About the venue

An award-winning licensed castle venue at the heart of a 140-acre private estate in the High Weald, as featured in The Crown. Grand reception rooms, a Victorian Winter Garden, a restored Carriage Barn for 104 and evening parties for 130.

Wadhurst Castle is an award-winning hidden gem at the heart of a 140-acre private estate, nestled in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the borders of Kent and Sussex. As featured in The Crown, it is a very special venue for weddings, celebrations, corporate events and filming.

Three interconnecting areas form the castle reception rooms. The grand Drawing Room and adjoining Moncrieff Room, with high ceilings and large south-facing windows, fill with beautiful light and lead into a charming Victorian Winter Garden of exotic plants, opening onto the South Lawn.

The sympathetically restored Carriage Barn sits in its own Well Courtyard and seats up to 104 banquet or theatre style for wedding breakfasts, functions and corporate events, with up to 130 for evening parties.

The historic designed gardens include the Fountain Garden, a rose arbour, an azalea walk ablaze in spring, summer rose gardens and a Walled Garden entered through twin magnolias, with licensed areas for ceremonies. The South Lawn, with breathtaking views over the countryside and Phoenix Lake, is perfect for drinks receptions, summer barbecues and team building.
