Set within 34 acres of private countryside in the village of Beech Hill, just outside Reading and around five minutes from the M4, Trunkwell House is a privately owned, exclusive-hire country house venue that has been hosting unforgettable weddings and events for more than 25 years. A grand driveway leads to a characterful Victorian house with landscaped gardens, a contemporary permanent marquee, open lawns and a paddock, giving the flexibility to host anything from an intimate gathering to a large-scale celebration.

Spaces flex with your numbers: up to 40 in the House, 180 in the Garden Room and 350 in the Grand Garden Room, with options to extend. The elegant permanent marquee features cream linings, carpeted floors, heating, PA systems and window walls that showcase the grounds, and the 560 square metre Garden Room opens onto the adjoining lawn. Only one wedding is hosted per day, so couples enjoy exclusive use of the house, gardens and marquee.

Couples can marry in the licensed summer pavilion set within the landscaped gardens, in the bright, airy and licensed Garden Marquee, or in the beautiful Victorian Dining Room, with its original features, grand bay window and open fire, for more intimate ceremonies. Gold, Platinum and Diamond wedding packages start from £119.95 per person off peak in 2026 and include an experienced wedding planner and on-the-day event manager, drinks, a three-course wedding breakfast or two-course BBQ, a food tasting, a fairy light canopy and décor, a red carpet arrival and a complimentary bridal suite, with a DJ, white LED dancefloor and toastmaster in selected packages.

For complete freedom, the dry hire option, from £6,000 off peak in 2026, offers exclusive hire of the marquee and gardens, tables and chairs for up to 350 guests, a service kitchen for external caterers, unlimited corkage and a dedicated coordinator, and is a popular choice for Asian weddings, cultural celebrations and multi-day events. A light-filled bridal studio with multiple hair and makeup stations helps the morning run smoothly, and six individually styled boutique bedrooms, including three suites, sleep up to 14 guests.

Businesses across Berkshire and Hampshire come to Trunkwell for conferences, away days, board meetings, award ceremonies, gala dinners, family fun days and summer parties, with the house restaurant used for breakout sessions and the paddock suited to stretch tents, fairground attractions and car showcases. The grounds lend themselves to team building, from outdoor challenges and country pursuits to creative workshops, with the Garden Room keeping activities going whatever the weather.

The in-house chefs offer formal three-course dining, afternoon teas, bowl food, hot fork buffets, street food, BBQs, hog roasts and stone-baked pizzas. Trunkwell also hosts birthday and anniversary parties, baby showers, christenings, proms and charity balls, and its famous themed Christmas parties, with 'The Lost Showman' circus-inspired shared and private-hire nights in the Big Top inspired Grand Marquee for 2026.
