About the venue

Three barns on the Titsey estate at the top of the Surrey Hills near Warlingham, run by a family business since 2019 and hired exclusively. Ceremonies take place in the red-brick Oakley Barn or the gardens, and the glass-fronted Main Barn seats 144 at long tables, with 160 in the evening. Three shepherd huts sleep guests on site.

On a clear day the view from The Barn at Botley Hill reaches across nine counties. The venue sits high on the Surrey Hills on the historic Titsey estate, next to the old Botley Hill Farmhouse inn. A family business has run it since 2019, and it was designed with help from some of Britain's leading architects. Its staff list includes two wedding managers, a head gardener and Ally, the office cat.

The venue is three buildings hired as one. The Main Barn is the dining room, with floor-to-ceiling glass looking over the North Downs, reclaimed wood panelling and a vaulted roof. It seats 144 at long tables or about 110 on rounds, and holds 160 for a standing evening party. The red-brick Oakley Barn is licensed for ceremonies and has a balcony used for a grand entrance or for musicians. The lounge-style Baby Barn takes the drinks reception.

The gardens hold a second licence, and summer couples often marry under the old maple tree. The Hayloft, high in the Oakley Barn, is a private room with its own bathroom for getting ready. Outside there is decking, a fairy-lit wooden gazebo and outdoor seating around a wood burner. Hire includes the farmhouse tables, made from reclaimed wood, along with a PA in every barn and a staffed evening bar.

Food comes only from the venue's approved caterers, and Jimmy Garcia Catering is its main partner. All drinks are ordered through the barn, with wines imported from Europe and South Africa, sparkling wine from Squerryes and beer from the Titsey Brewing Company next door. Couples get a free wine tasting before the day. Three shepherd huts, which made the cover of Surrey Life, cost £150 a night, and the farmhouse is adding four en-suite rooms.
