Family-owned, exclusive-use flint and brick barns in the South Downs National Park between Worthing and Arundel, with three licensed ceremony spaces for up to 100 indoors and 200 outdoors, a fairy-lit main barn with a Victorian mahogany bar, walled gardens, on-site cottage bedrooms and space for weddings, corporate events and parties.

Tucked away along a peaceful country lane in the South Downs National Park, between Worthing and Arundel, Selden Barns is a family-owned and managed venue on Old Selden Farm near Patching, where ancient flint and brick buildings appear through the trees and horses graze in nearby fields. The estate stretches across more than 50 acres of rolling fields, ancient woodland and hedgerows, with formal gardens framed by flint and brick walls to the west and a patio terrace looking east across open pastures towards Patching village. The entire venue is exclusively yours, with no other events on site.

There are three licensed ceremony spaces. The Old Ceremony Barn, adjoining the main house, seats up to 100 beneath timber rafters, chandeliers and fairy lights, while the elegant Sussex Oak Pergola and the Front Lawn, framed by fruit trees and countryside views, host up to 200 outdoors. Drinks, canapés and garden games follow in the walled garden, before guests step into the Main Barn, more than 300 square metres of celebration space beneath sweeping ivory drapes, sparkling chandeliers and fairy lights, with a floor-to-ceiling window framing the fields and a mahogany bar that was once part of a Victorian chemist's shop. Dining, dancing and the bar sit all in one space, uplighters glow as evening falls, and guests drift onto the terrace beneath the stars, with up to 200 guests for the evening celebration.

Venue hire starts from £4,650 for off-peak dates, with every available date and its price shown live online, and includes exclusive use of the estate for a full 15 hours from 9am, all three ceremony spaces, the main barn, walled garden and terrace, a dedicated getting-ready room, the mahogany bar, tables, chairs and linen, a speaker system in the Ceremony Barn, free parking for all guests and a dedicated wedding coordinator from booking to the big day. Catering comes from four trusted catering partners, offering everything from formal dinners and sharing feasts to food stations, hog roasts and afternoon tea, and an offer for new weddings from January to April 2027 includes dining by Ren's Kitchen, Prosecco, wine, evening food and an overnight stay in The Gatehouse from £7,501 for 50 adult guests.

Guests can stay on site in nine guest rooms housed in traditional flint and brick cottages, each with its own front door, oak floors, Egyptian cotton bedding, en-suite shower rooms and underfloor heating, including family rooms with bunk or twin rooms for children and The Gatehouse suite with its private courtyard and roll-top bath.

Beyond weddings, Selden Barns is a countryside alternative to conference centres, with the main barn seating 50 to 200 theatre-style, 180 for dinner and 250 standing, a smaller 60-square-metre barn for executive meetings, AV equipment, fast Wi-Fi, EV chargers and disabled access. It hosts conferences, product launches, training days, board meetings, team building, awards and gala dinners, themed and Christmas parties, as well as milestone birthdays, anniversaries, vow renewals, baby showers, christenings and celebrations of life, and selected dates from January to May 2027 are offered at half the usual venue hire.
