About the venue
Grade II listed 4-star hotel on Brighton seafront, built in 1864 and opposite the Bandstand, with a Regency-style stucco front and original mirrors and chandeliers. The Ballroom seats 120 for a wedding breakfast and 150 in the evening, the Coast View Suite takes 60 for ceremonies, and five meeting rooms take up to 110 theatre-style.
Brighton's Bandstand stands directly opposite the Mercure Brighton Seafront, and couples can book it for their wedding ceremony. The hotel, which also trades as The Norfolk Hotel, was built in 1864 and is Grade II listed. Its Regency-style stucco front, original mirrors and chandeliers have all survived. It is about a mile from Brighton station, with trains to London Victoria and Gatwick.
The Ballroom has ceiling-height mirrors and chandeliers and is licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships. It seats 120 for a wedding breakfast and holds 150 for an evening party. The L-shaped Coast View Suite takes 60 for a ceremony, with panoramic views along the promenade. The West Pier Suite on the sixth floor holds 40 for an evening event.
Five meeting rooms handle conferences, training days and interviews, all with high-speed Wi-Fi. The largest takes 110 theatre-style or 120 for a banquet. Day delegate packages come at three levels, and a 24-hour rate adds dinner, a single room and breakfast. Meetings Express books a room for up to 20 delegates within the next 28 days.
Coastal is the hotel's bistro, bar and terrace, facing the sea and serving local dishes such as Sussex Smokies. Sea View Privilege Rooms have Nespresso machines and air conditioning, and some have private balconies over the English Channel. The Junior Suite adds a king-size bed and a balcony. The hotel is fully cashless. A small chargeable car park at the rear works on a first come, first served basis, with more spaces at Regency Square.
