About the venue

Farmhouse wedding venue in Netherfield near Battle, hired exclusively for a whole Friday-to-Sunday weekend. A panoramic marquee takes 120 day and 150 evening guests, the farmhouse sleeps 14 and bell tents are included, with corkage-free drinks and your own caterers.

Guests arriving at Hidden Acres walk in through a Grade II listed gatehouse hung with bunting and festoon lights. Beyond it lie the farmhouse, its gardens and a ceremony lawn with views over the Sussex countryside.

The venue is in the village of Netherfield, near Battle, inside an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It hosts only a small number of weddings each season, which runs between May and the first week of September.

Each couple has the whole place from 3pm on Friday until 3pm on Sunday, with the wedding on the Saturday. Access to the marquee earlier in the week can be arranged for setting up.

The marquee is new, measures nine by 21 metres and has panoramic sides that roll up on warm days. It holds 120 guests for the day and 150 in the evening.

It comes fully dressed with ivory lining, a dance floor, festoon lights, chiavari chairs and trestle tables. So does a styling shed stocked with rugs, lanterns, antique furniture and lawn games.

The farmhouse sleeps 14 across six bedrooms, three of them large master rooms. It stands about ten metres from the ceremony lawn, so older guests and families can slip inside for a rest.

Three empty bell tents are pitched in the garden, and guests may bring their own tents too. Field parking takes about 60 cars.

Everything is covered by one flat-rate fee. Drinks are corkage-free, and couples choose their own caterers and bar, who must work off-grid.

Loud music ends at 11pm because of nearby neighbours, but a silent disco can carry on afterwards. Fire pits with logs and seating are provided free.
