About the venue

Grade II* Jacobean manor in Upper Froyle, ten minutes from Farnham, hired exclusively for weddings. A Grand Ballroom for 300, an outdoor Dome for 240 and 32 bedrooms sleeping 66, with dry hire through about 20 approved caterers or all-inclusive packages.

In the early 1900s Sir Hubert Miller sometimes spent six months of the year at his villa in Venice. Each time he came home to Froyle he brought small statues of saints, which were placed in niches and under the eaves of the estate's houses and cottages in Upper Froyle. They are still there, although the estate was split up long ago.

The house itself was built around 1620 by Sir John Jephson, on the site of an older one, and is Grade II* listed. It is a gabled, U-shaped manor with two Tudor doorways in the cellar, and later owners added sash windows and Adam-style rooms. Early in the First World War it served as a military hospital. The Grade I listed Church of St Mary stands next door.

Froyle Park is now an exclusive-use wedding venue on the Hampshire side of the Surrey border, about ten minutes from Farnham. The air-conditioned Grand Ballroom seats 300, or 250 with the dance floor kept clear, and has a Martin Audio sound system. The oak-panelled Great Hall takes 140 for a ceremony and 70 for dinner, and the Dome in the gardens seats 240 outdoors.

The venue has a long record of Asian, African-Caribbean, Jewish and multicultural weddings, and welcomes Dhol drumming and ceremonial fire. There are 32 bedrooms plus a Honeymoon Suite, sleeping 66, and a three-bedroom Hideaway for the bridal party the night before. Heathrow is about 35 minutes by car, and trains from Waterloo reach Alton in around 65 minutes.
