England's largest single-estate vineyard, outside Dorking, with 265 acres of vines facing Box Hill. Wedding packages cover parties of 10 in the Wine Library and outdoor vows for 150. Corporate spaces take 6 to 500, including vaulted cellars and a 17-room vineyard hotel.

In 2022 Denbies Wine Estate set itself a five-year plan to reach Net Zero, and it got there in under two and a half years. It became the first vineyard and winery in the UK certified Net Zero under the UK Carbon Code of Conduct. It is also a B Corp and holds a King's Award for Sustainable Development.

The White family planted the first vines in 1986, on chalky south-facing slopes of the North Downs. The chateau-style winery followed in 1993, alongside the first release, Surrey Gold. The estate covers 380 acres, 265 of them under vine, which makes it England's largest single-estate vineyard. Prince Albert visited Denbies in 1851, long before the vines arrived.

Visitors can tour the cellars, watch a film in the estate's indoor cinema or ride the vineyard train towards Box Hill. Seven miles of public footpaths cross the vines and woodland. The Gallery Restaurant sits on the third floor of the winery, and the Wine Library Brasserie & Bar looks straight out over the rows.

The Vineyard Hotel has 17 rooms across The Farmhouse, built in the 1850s, and The Brokes. Some ground-floor rooms take dogs. Dorking station is about a 15-minute walk, with direct trains from London Waterloo and Victoria. Parking is free, with EV chargers on site.
