Grade I listed National Trust house above the Thames, now a five AA Red Star hotel and spa with 47 bedrooms. Exclusive-use weddings for 130 by day and 180 in the evening, up to 250 with a marquee, plus private rooms for parties and meetings.

The French Dining Room at Cliveden was bought in France. On a visit to Paris in 1897, William Waldorf Astor was shown the gilded panelling of Madame de Pompadour's 18th-century dining room at the Château d'Asnières. Its proportions matched his own dining room exactly, so he bought the panelling, table and chairs and had the room rebuilt at Cliveden.

The 2nd Duke of Buckingham built the first house in 1666. Fire destroyed it in 1795 and again in 1849, and the present building was finished in 1851. With that history, candles are not allowed in any bedroom.

Cliveden is a Grade I listed house owned by the National Trust, in 376 acres of grounds above the River Thames. It is now a five AA Red Star hotel with 47 bedrooms, plus Spring Cottage, a three-bedroom house on the riverbank. London is 40 minutes away and Heathrow 25.

Exclusive-use weddings take 130 guests for the day and 180 in the evening, or up to 250 with a marquee. Smaller weddings use packages for 8 to 60 guests in the private dining rooms.

Meeting rooms include The Churchill on the Clocktower Courtyard, a screening room and the Cellar Dining Room, once Lord Astor's private wine cellar. The Astor Grill fills the old stables where Lord Astor kept his best fillies, and the Cliveden Dining Room looks over the Parterre to the river.
