Chartham Park

About the venue

Golf and country club just north of East Grinstead, with a par-72 championship course designed by Ryder Cup player Neil Coles. Private hire for up to 120 covers birthdays, anniversaries, meetings and proms, and exclusive Christmas party nights take up to 80.

Ryder Cup player Neil Coles designed the original par-72 championship course at Chartham Park. It has since had a £1m revamp, £700k of which went on redesigning the bunkers, and the club now counts it among the most sustainable courses in the region.

The club lies just north of East Grinstead, between the High Weald and the Surrey Hills. It belongs to The Club Company's group of 17 country clubs. Members have a Technogym gym and a 19-metre indoor pool, with a hydro pool, sauna and steam room beside it. Golfers can practise on a 300-yard driving range.

Private hire covers groups of up to 120. A dedicated events team plans birthdays, anniversaries, team meetings, creative workshops and wakes. The chefs price finger buffets, afternoon teas or full dining packages to suit the size of the party and the budget.

Proms get an all-inclusive package with a private bar, buffet, DJ, red carpet arrival and security. In late November and December the club can be booked outright for Christmas party nights of up to 80, with a three-course meal and a disco at £56 a head.

Golf days are run by the same team, for societies, friends or clients, with tee times and catering arranged. The Pulse Bar serves breakfast and lunch every day, and there are two indoor bars and a covered pergola.
