Avisford Park Hotel

About the venue

A Georgian manor house hotel between Arundel and Chichester, once a boarding school, with 140 bedrooms, an 18-hole golf course and 89 acres of parkland. The Grand Hall in its Garden Lodge takes weddings and conferences of over 300, and smaller suites suit parties, meetings and private dinners.

Avisford Park used to be a private boarding school. In the Cedar Restaurant, the names of its head boys are still carved into the cedar panels on the walls.

The school is long gone, and the Georgian manor house is now a hotel run by the Crest Hotels Group. It stands in 89 acres of parkland between Arundel and Chichester, near the edge of the South Downs.

There are 140 bedrooms, and dogs are welcome. An 18-hole parkland golf course runs through the grounds. The health club has a 10-metre heated indoor pool, a sauna, a steam room and a Technogym fitness suite. Kelly's Beauty Lounge offers treatments.

Events are a large part of what the hotel does. The biggest room is the Grand Hall, in a separate Garden Lodge with its own entrance, bar and dance floor. It holds 330 for a wedding and 336 delegates theatre-style.

The main house has the Henty Suite, the Ballroom and the Terrace Room. The Ballroom keeps its chandeliers, ornate coving and rose mouldings, next to a staircase that suits photographs.

Through the year the hotel runs tribute nights, Sunday lunches and afternoon teas. Gatwick and Southampton airports are about 45 minutes away by car, and there is EV charging on site.
